Day 03 |
LHASA-GYANTSE: 290 km drive to Gyantse (3,900m), the typical Tibetan town with a famous Chorten at Baiju Monastery. On the way you ride across the Kambala Pass (4.800m), which is the demarcation line between Front Tibet and Rear Tibet, and Karola Pass (5.045m), where the glacial tongue of Mount Ninjingangsha (7, 206m) is only a few hundred meters away from the highway. |
Day 05 |
XIGATSE - LHASA: After visiting the Kumbum (Chorten) you ride 90 km to Xigatse (3,800m), the capital of rear Tibet. In the afternoon guided tour to Tashilungpo Monastery, the site of Panchen Lama. Drive back to Lhasa and overnight. |
