Duration: 30 Days.
Departures: 4th and 14th day of October, November, March and April.
This rarely completed journey is beyond the scope of most trekking groups, being an arduous route through some of the most impressive scenery in the Himalaya. It weaves a line from the Barun Valley to Lukla; crossing the impressive Sherpani Col and three other passes up to 6,135m high, taking in Mera Peak on the way. We trek up the Barun Valley to base camp, directly below the stupendous Wet Face of Makalu (8,463m). The first major pass is the Sherpani Col (6,10m), which leads to the high plateau of the Lower Barun Glacier and continue west, over the West Col (6135m) to the remote Hongku Valley, after which we descend towards Mera. Lukla is finally reached after crossing the Mera La and Zatrawa La passes. We will have the option of climbing Mera (6,476m), to add a summit to this great adventure! |
